Sangala Wire Christmas Candle Holder - Antique Brass

A shallow round wire bowl 29cm across, carried on a flared wire pedestal, with four small brass cups set evenly round the rim to take dinner candles. The bowl and the foot are built the same way: two rings held apart by closely spaced upright wires, with finer wire woven across them, so the whole piece is open and whatever stands behind it shows through. It is 18.5cm tall to the rim.

Four flames on one object at 18.5cm puts the light above the table surface without reaching eye height across it, and the 29cm span holds them far enough apart to read as four separate flames rather than as one glow. That makes it a centre for a laid table, or a mantel.

The frame is wire, hand formed and welded, with finer wire woven around it by hand and the whole piece then coated in antique brass. Because the weaving is done by hand the density varies around the bowl, so no two holders carry quite the same texture. Sangala also runs as a set of three wire stars in the same antique brass. The candles are not included.
