Description

This is a wide stoneware bowl, 26.5cm across and 9.5cm tall, with room for 1600ml. At that capacity we treat it as a serving bowl rather than a bowl for one: it is the piece you fill and set in the middle of the table. The beige glaze is a reactive one, so the surface is softly speckled and shifts in tone from the well up the sides, finished with a fine darker line along the rim. The outline is round but gently uneven, which gives the bowl a relaxed, easy look.

It earns its place at the centre of a meal. A leafy salad, a big pasta, roasted vegetables or a pile of fruit all sit comfortably in it, and the wide flaring sides make serving with tongs or a spoon easy.
