Description

A single stem 57cm tall, made from iron and finished in antique brass. The bare wire stem divides into three near the middle, and each branch carries a spike of narrow overlapping leaves with saw toothed edges that taper to a point, with a pair of fine whiskers standing above each tip. The brass is pale and unevenly polished, so the leaves read gold where the light strikes the face of them and darker in the shadow between.

At 57cm the stem stands well clear of the rim of a tall bottle or a floor vase rather than a table jug, and the three branches spread 15cm, enough to fill a narrow neck without help. Nothing withers and nothing needs watering, so an arrangement stays as it is set. Three stems group well in a clear glass bottle, and each stem is sold on its own.

The stem is iron under an antique brass finish, and the leaves are moulded rather than cut flat, so each spike has depth to it and catches the light along its length. San also runs to a floral stem and a foliage stem, both in the same finish and both shorter than this one.
