Description

The San is a single decorative stem in iron, 43cm tall and finished in antique brass. The bare lower stem divides, and divides again, into a spray of branches, each carrying clusters of pressed leaves with a raised central vein and a finely toothed edge, along with a scatter of small domed buds on short stalks. The leaves are bent out of the flat so they sit at angles to one another rather than lying in a single plane, and the finish runs lighter along the raised veins and darker in the hollows.

At 43cm it suits a bottle vase or a narrow necked jug, where the stem stays upright and the branches lift clear of the rim. It weighs 100 grams. Standing in a clear glass bottle on a shelf, the branches throw their shadow across the wall behind.

The stem is iron throughout, cut, pressed and bent by hand, so the set of the leaves differs from one stem to the next. Each stem is sold on its own, not in a bunch. It is for indoor use. The San range also holds a floral stem and a leaf stem in the same antique brass.
