Description

A cushion cover, 60cm wide by 40cm high, handwoven in two panels of roughly equal width. One panel is worked in fine vertical bands of varying weight, some a single thread wide and some several together, so it reads as a close run of stripes rather than a regular repeat. The other panel is plain, in a looser and coarser yarn that leaves the texture of the fibre visible across it. A corded seam runs round all four sides.

At 60 x 40cm this is a rectangular cushion rather than a square one, so it sits in front of a pair of 50cm squares on a sofa or across the width of an armchair, and it takes the small of the back where a square sits too deep. On a sofa it sits with the matching square behind it and the banded panel facing out. This listing is for the cover.

The cover is handwoven on a traditional Indian handloom from wool blended with recycled polyester, the polyester spun from plastic waste diverted from oceans and waterways. The same weave is also made as a 50 x 50cm square.
