Sakti Brass & Recycled Glass Pendant Light - Clear

The Sakti is a heavy cast canopy over a glass ball. The metal starts as a straight cylinder at the top and flares into a broad shallow dome, and the whole surface carries the pitting and the ripples of sand casting, so no two are marked the same way. It is finished in antique brass. Underneath, a sphere of clear recycled glass sits up inside the dome with about half of it showing below the rim. A brass chain and a rust coloured fabric flex run up from the top. It is 31.5cm tall and 22.5cm across.

The canopy is solid metal, so no light passes through it. All of it leaves through the glass ball below, in a ring at the level of the shade and straight down underneath. That makes it a fitting for a surface and a low drop, over a kitchen island, a dining table or a hall table. It takes one E14 bulb up to 25W, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The canopy is sand cast aluminium finished in antique brass, and the globe is recycled glass blown by hand, so it carries small bubbles and slight changes in thickness. Bulbs are not included.

Instruction Manual (PDF)

Is the metal brass?

The canopy is cast aluminium finished in antique brass. The chain above it is brass.

How much of the glass shows?

About half the sphere sits below the rim of the canopy. The rest is up inside it.

Why is the metal surface uneven?

It is sand cast, which leaves the pitting and the ripples of the mould on the surface. Every canopy is marked differently.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulb cool, then wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off both the glass and the metal.
