Description

The Sakiti is a squat cast pot of a lamp base: a wide low belly drawing in to a short neck, with broad vertical grooves running down the body so the surface breaks into panels rather than curving smoothly. The casting is left rough under the antique brass, and the finish sits brighter on the panel faces than down in the grooves. A brass collar and a black lampholder sit on the neck. It is 22cm tall and 18cm across.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 22cm tall and 18cm across it is a small, low base, which puts it where height is a problem: a bedside table, a low shelf, a windowsill. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The base is sand cast aluminium, poured into a sand mould and taken out once it cools, then finished in antique brass. Sand casting comes out irregular, so the patina lands differently on every base. The Sakiti range also holds a boucle lampshade in two sizes. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only. The Sakiti range holds a boucle lampshade in a small and a medium.

Is it solid brass?

No. It is cast aluminium with an antique brass finish over it.

Why does the finish vary from one base to another?

The casting is made in a sand mould, which comes out irregular, and the finish then lands differently across a surface that is never twice the same.

What bulb does it take?

One E27, up to 60W. No bulb is included.

How do I clean it?

Turn it off, then wipe it gently with a microfibre cloth. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish.
