Description
A low garden sofa 190cm wide, 93cm deep and 72cm high, built on a chunky acacia frame. The base is a plain rectangle of square section timber on four square legs, with the top of the platform 30cm from the ground. At each end a short upright post carries a single rail, and that rail is what the long back cushion leans against. The seat is one deep loose cushion running almost the full length, and both cushions are covered in a natural cotton and jute weave.
At 190cm wide and 93cm deep this is a sofa to sit back in rather than perch on, and the seat cushion alone is 85cm deep. The arms are open posts rather than solid panels, so it reads long and low from the side and is not closed in at either end.
The frame is acacia, a hard wood with a high oil content that stands up to weather, and it is left natural, so the colour, the shading and the knots run differently through every part of the same piece. Acacia can open cracks along the grain once it has been out in the weather, which is the timber moving rather than a fault. The cushions are covered in a water repellent fabric of 58 per cent cotton and 42 per cent jute, and they come with the sofa. A love seat is made in the same range.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
190cm wide, 93cm deep and 72cm high. The seat platform is 30cm from the ground and the seat cushion is 85cm deep.
Are the cushions included?
Yes. The seat cushion and the back cushion both come with the sofa, covered in a jute and cotton weave that is 58 per cent cotton and 42 per cent jute.
Can it be left outside?
The sofa is made for outdoor use. The cushion fabric is water repellent but not fully weatherproof, so do not leave the cushions out in showers or heavy rain, overnight, or in bad weather. Store the furniture somewhere dry over the winter months.
Will the wood crack?
It can. Acacia opens cracks along the grain once it has been exposed to the elements, and that is a natural property rather than a flaw. Variation in colour, shading and grain between different parts of one piece is normal, and knots are a natural feature of the timber.
How is the wood looked after?
A yearly wash with warm water lifts algae and pollution off the timber. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaning products on it. Spot clean the cushions only.
