Description

A pair of dinner candles hand poured from a soy wax blend, each 20.5cm long and 2cm across. They are straight sided for their whole length, with a short domed nose stepped in above the shoulder and a flat cut base. The surface is deliberately uneven, pitted and streaked with pale marks where the wax has set unevenly, and it is matt rather than glossy. The colour is named olive green, though it reads closer to a grey khaki than to a true green.

Two candles are supplied. At 20.5cm they are a table length rather than a mantelpiece one, and because they are straight sided at 2cm across rather than tapered, they need a holder with a socket of that size. A pair will stand either side of a centrepiece on a laid table, or singly down the length of one. The same dinner candle is made in six colourways, and the same wax blend is poured into pillar candles in a mini, a small and a large.

The candles are a blend of soy wax and paraffin wax, with soy as the base, poured by hand into moulds in small batches. That is where the uneven surface comes from, and it is why no two of them are alike. A candlestick is not included.
