Description

The Rui is a slim adjustable wall light that also works as a reading light: a single copper tube on a short arm from a round backplate, with an integrated LED inside, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. It draws 2.7W and gives 250 lumens of warm 3000K light through a 45° beam, a focused pool of light rather than a wash across the room. With a colour rendering index of 90 or more, book pages, fabrics and skin tones look true under it. It is 20cm tall and 6cm wide, and stands 9.5cm out from the wall.

Because the tube angles on its arm, you can point the light exactly where you need it. That makes the Rui a natural bedside reading light either side of a double bed, or a wall lamp beside a sofa or armchair for an evening with a book. It suits bedrooms, guest rooms, living rooms and studies, and works just as well in a quiet reading corner. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It switches on and off rather than dimming, so there is no dimmer to match, and the focused beam keeps the light on your page and off whoever is asleep beside you.

The structure is iron and the base is aluminium, both in a warm copper finish that sits comfortably alongside brushed metals, oak and linen. It runs on 220-240V and carries a 5 year guarantee. Its pared-back, modern lines keep it quiet on the wall when it is off. For styling, hang a pair either side of a headboard at a matching height, and let the copper play against warm whites, soft plaster pinks or deep greens for a calm, finished look.
