Description

The Rui LED Floor Lamp is a slim reading light in matt black: a single straight pole on a flat round base, 142cm tall overall, topped by a short tubular head set at an angle. The head is 20cm long and holds an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit. It draws 2.7W and gives 350 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a colour rendering index of 90 or more, so fabrics, book pages and skin tones look true. The 45° beam is focused rather than broad, putting light where you read or work instead of washing the whole room.

We see it beside a reading chair or at the end of a sofa in a living room, next to a desk in a home office or study, or by a bed where a ceiling light would be too much late in the evening. The pole is thin and the base low and flat, so it tucks into a tight corner or the narrow gap between furniture without crowding it. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is not dimmable: it is a simple on-off switched lamp, which suits a light you turn on for reading and off again when you are done. It runs on 220-240V mains.

The structure is iron with an aluminium base, finished in matt black, and the 2m cable is plastic. Against a pale wall the black reads as a single fine line, which is much of its appeal in a modern room. It carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, set it just behind the shoulder of a chair so the angled head throws light down onto your page, and pair it with dark picture frames, black metal shelving or a leather armchair to carry the matt black through the room.
