Description

Rudi is a linear LED pendant light in matt black: a long, slim iron bar 120cm long and 8.5cm tall, with a shorter central section sitting above the main run and natural wood caps finishing each end. The light is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or replace, and it gives 5400 lumens from 32W, spread through a 120° beam angle for broad, even light along the length of a table. A CRI of 90 or more means food, wood and fabrics keep their true colours beneath it. It comes in two colour temperatures, 3000K or 2700K; 2700K is the warmer of the two, and 3000K a touch crisper.

We see it at its best over a long dining table, where its length follows the run of the table and lights everyone seated along it. It suits a kitchen island just as well, or a long desk or work table in a study. The look is modern with a Scandinavian lean: clean black lines warmed by the wood at each end, so it sits comfortably with timber tables and plain painted walls. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an on-off switched fitting rather than a dimmable one, so it works from an ordinary switch and not a dimmer.

The structure is iron in a matt black finish, with natural wood caps and a 2m textile cable that runs down from a 12cm round ceiling canopy, alongside two fine suspension wires. It runs on 220-240V and, like any mains fitting, is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, hang it centred over the table and let the black bar echo darker chairs or metal details in the room, while the wood caps pick up a timber tabletop.
