The Rubi Duo Cone Pendant hangs two cone shades from a single slim rod, angled out to either side so the light falls in two directions at once. Each shade is matt black outside and gold inside, so the inner surface catches the light with a warm glow while the outside stays dark and understated. The fitting is made from an iron structure, opal glass and a textile cable, and its opal glass globe softens the glare. Overall it is 83cm tall and 49cm wide, each conical shade is 20cm across, and the ceiling canopy is 12cm across.

We think it works best hung above something: over a dining table, a desk in a home office, or a sideboard or reading chair in a living room, where the two shades throw light to either side rather than in a single pool. At 49cm wide it suits a small round table or a spot along a longer one, and it brings a sculptural shape to a hallway or bedroom too. The textile cable is 1.5m long, which is worth measuring against your ceiling height before you choose it. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its clean lines suit a modern scheme.
