Description

The Roshani is a pair of star decorations cut from iron, 15cm from point to point and 3.5cm deep. Each star is folded so that raised facets run from the centre out to every point, which catches the light on one side of a fold and leaves the other in shadow. The antique brass finish is mottled rather than even, gold across the flats and darker along the folds and the cut edges. A small brass ring at the top carries a knotted sari tie.

At 3.5cm deep these hang flat enough to sit on a branch without pushing it out of line. The ties are long enough to loop straight over a branch without a hook. Two in a set means a pair on one tree, or one each on two. Indoor use only.

The stars are iron, cut by hand and finished with an antique brass effect using traditional metalwork. Each tie is cut from a reclaimed sari, so no two are the same. Roshani is also sold as a set of four.
