Description

The Rose pendant is a slim cylinder of smooth brass in matt white, hung from a small round ceiling canopy on a textile cable, with its light falling from the open base. It comes in three sizes, each named for the height of its cylindrical shade: the 16cm size has a shade 16cm tall and 4cm across, the 25cm size a shade 25cm tall and 4cm across, and the 40cm size a shade 40cm tall and 4cm across. Every size hangs from a canopy 6.5cm across on 1.5m of cable and takes one GU10 lamp. It is a switched, on-off fitting, so it works from an ordinary light switch rather than a dimmer.

A narrow cylinder gives useful light with very little bulk, so we like it over a dining table or a breakfast bar, above a desk, or either side of a bed in place of bedside lamps. It also suits a hallway or landing where a wide shade would crowd the space. With the 16cm shade it is at its most discreet, the 25cm shade sits well beside a bed, and the 40cm shade has the presence for a long table or a high ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, studies and halls. Its clean lines belong in a modern interior, and the matt white finish sits quietly against pale walls and ceilings.

The structure is smooth brass with a matt white finish, and it hangs on a textile cable. It runs on 220-240V mains, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, hang two or three together at different heights over a table, or mix the three sizes in a row, so the white cylinders step down in a line that still feels light and uncluttered.
