Description

This is a pair of stoneware candle holders shaped as two spotted big cats, each carrying a petal-shaped cup on its back to hold a taper candle. One lies stretched out with its front paws forward and its tail curled against its side; the other stands on all four legs with its head turned. The lying cat is 14cm long, 7cm wide and 8.5cm tall, and the standing cat is 18cm long, 7.5cm wide and 13.5cm tall, so their two candles sit at different heights when grouped. They are made of stoneware and come as a set of two in a multicoloured finish, with dotted coats and a mottled petal cup on each.

Grouped together, they suit a side table, a mantelpiece or the centre of a dining table, where the taller cat lifts its candle clear of the smaller one. They work as well apart: one on a bookshelf, the other on a windowsill or a hall console.
