Description

The Ronda pendant light is a single aluminium dome in a matt black finish, hung on a textile cable from a small round ceiling canopy. It is 30cm tall and 33cm across, with an 8cm canopy and a 1.5m cable. Near the open rim, ribbed bands circle the shade, a neat detail that breaks up the smooth curve and gives the lower edge a crisp, engineered look. It takes one E27 lamp, the common large screw cap, so it works with a wide choice of standard lamps, and the open base sends the light down onto whatever sits beneath.

At 33cm across it has real presence over a dining table, a sideboard or a reading chair, and its plain outline suits a modern or Scandinavian scheme where simple shapes and dark accents do the work. Hang one on its own over a small round table, or two or three in a line over a longer one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies are all good homes for it. Its control is on-off switched, so it runs from an ordinary light switch.

The structure is aluminium and the cable is textile, which looks softer and more finished than plain plastic flex where it drops from the ceiling. The matt black finish keeps reflections low on the outside of the shade, so it reads as a clean, solid shape against a pale wall or ceiling.
