Description

The Ronda pendant light is a dome-shaped ceiling pendant in yellow, with a band of raised ribs running round the shade just above its open rim. The shade and structure are aluminium, and it hangs from a small round ceiling canopy on a 1.5m textile cable. It takes one E27 lamp, the standard large screw cap, so the colour and brightness of the light depend on the lamp fitted. The dome is open at the bottom, so the light falls downwards onto the table or worktop beneath it rather than spreading across the ceiling. It is an on-off fitting, worked from an ordinary light switch, with no dimming to set up.

We see it working hardest in a kitchen, hung over a dining table, an island or a stretch of worktop, where the downward light lands exactly where you chop, eat and read. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water from any direction, so it copes with the splashes of a busy kitchen and suits a bathroom too. It is an indoor fitting, though, and not for outdoor use. The clean dome and plain colour sit comfortably in modern and Scandinavian rooms, from a bright breakfast corner to a hallway or landing that needs a cheerful lift.
