Description

Ronda is a pendant light with a deep dome shade in matt black aluminium, ringed by ribbed bands just above its open rim. It hangs from a round ceiling canopy on a textile cable 1.5m long, so there is room to bring the shade down low over a table. Inside, one E27 lamp holder takes a standard screw-cap lamp, which means you choose the colour and brightness of the light yourself, and the open base sends it down in a generous pool. The black runs right through to the inside of the shade, so it looks just as neat from below as it does from across the room.

With its modern, Scandinavian lines, Ronda suits a kitchen, a dining room or a hallway, and a single shade over a breakfast bar or a pair over a kitchen island gives the space a clear focal point. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water, so it can hang near a kitchen sink or in a bathroom as well as in a dry living room or bedroom. It is an indoor fitting. It works on and off from an ordinary wall switch at 220-240V, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install.

The structure is aluminium, finished in matt black, and the cable is textile, which suits the soft, plain look of the dome. It carries a 3 year guarantee. We like it against pale walls and warm timber, where the black reads crisp and graphic; fit a warm white lamp for an evening glow over the table, or a brighter one where you prepare food.
