Description

The Romulo is a 120x60cm wall mirror built from 15 individual rhombus-shaped mirror panels, each bordered in gold leaf and mounted on a black-lacquered MDF backing. The panels are arranged in a diamond lattice pattern, creating geometric depth and angular reflections across the surface rather than a single flat mirror plane.

Designed for hallway walls, above console tables and in living room or bedroom feature positions, the Romulo can be hung vertically or horizontally depending on the wall space and the desired visual proportion. The 2.3cm depth projects the mirror slightly from the wall, with the black MDF backing creating a defined shadow line around the edge. The gold leaf borders catch both natural and artificial light, adding warmth to the reflections without overwhelming the geometry.

The rhombus configuration breaks up the reflection into faceted segments, so rather than mirroring a room as a single image, the Romulo reflects it as an abstract mosaic of angles and fragments. This makes it less functionally useful as a dressing mirror but more effective as a decorative wall feature in spaces where visual interest matters more than full-length reflection. How is the gold leaf maintained?

The gold leaf borders are sealed during manufacture and do not require special maintenance. Dust the mirror surface and gold leaf edges with a soft dry cloth. Avoid spraying glass cleaner directly onto the gold leaf borders — spray onto the cloth instead and wipe the mirror panels only.
