Description

The Roi is a ribbed opal glass dome that fixes flush to a ceiling or to a wall, held in a slim band of polished brass. The glass is fluted all the way round in fine ribs running from rim to crown, so the light from its single G9 lamp holder comes through soft and even, with each rib catching a thin line of brightness as it curves away from the base. The dome shade is 12cm across and stands 8.5cm high, and the brass base is 10cm wide and 2cm high, which keeps the fitting compact and tidy. We would fit a G9 LED lamp, the type the maker recommends.

Because it fixes flush, with no stem, the Roi suits places where headroom is short or a pendant would be in the way: a hallway, a landing, a walk-in wardrobe, a box room or a small study. On a wall it gives a soft glow at eye level along a corridor or beside a bed; on a ceiling it lights a compact room without hanging down into it. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.
