Description

The Rocio is a 5-light LED cluster pendant from Schuller with five egg-shaped glass shades suspended from a 30cm polished chrome ceiling plate. Each glass shade contains decorative internal bubbles that scatter the 3000K warm white light from integrated LEDs, creating a textured glow effect. The chrome canopy sits flush to the ceiling and conceals the individual cable runs for each pendant.

Designed for entrance halls, open staircases and double-height living spaces, the Rocio uses individually adjustable cables to vary the vertical arrangement of the five glass drops. The minimum drop is 45cm when all cables are shortened, extending to a maximum 150cm when fully deployed. This adjustability allows the cluster to be configured as a tight group or a cascading staggered arrangement depending on ceiling height and room proportions. The combined 25W LED output provides ambient rather than task lighting, with dimming controlled via the included remote handset.

Each glass shade measures approximately 8-10cm in diameter at the widest point and weighs just over 1kg including the integrated LED module, giving the cluster a total installed weight of 5.75kg. The bubble texture within the glass is created during the casting process, so the exact pattern and density of bubbles varies between individual shades. The polished chrome finish on the canopy and cable fittings reflects ambient light during the day and provides a cool metallic contrast to the warm light output when the LEDs are active. The fitting is Class 1 rated and requires an earth connection to a UK ceiling rose.

How is the dimming controlled?

The integrated LEDs are dimmable via the included infrared remote control handset. The remote allows brightness adjustment without needing to install a wall dimmer switch. Line-of-sight to the ceiling canopy is typically required for reliable operation.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Each of the five cables can be shortened or lengthened during installation to create the desired vertical arrangement. Once set, the cables remain in position but can be re-adjusted if needed by accessing the canopy fixings.

What ceiling height does it need?

With a minimum drop of 45cm and maximum of 150cm, the Rocio suits ceiling heights from approximately 2.6m upwards. In standard 2.4m ceiling rooms the minimum drop would leave the lowest glass shade quite close to head height, so it works best in taller spaces or over furniture.

Are the bubble patterns identical across all five shades?

No. The internal bubble texture is created during the glass casting process, so the pattern, size and density of bubbles varies between individual shades. This is a characteristic of the manufacturing method rather than a defect.
