Description

The Roberta LED pendant light is a slim, open ring of matt black aluminium. The circle is broken by a short gap, and a silicone diffuser runs along its underside. It comes in three sizes: 50cm across at 20W giving 3200 lumens, 65cm across at 30W giving 4800 lumens, and 80cm across at 40W giving 6400 lumens. Each runs on an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit. It gives a warm white 3000K light with a colour rendering index of 90 or more, so woods, fabrics and skin tones look true. The 120 degree beam spreads the light wide and soft beneath it.

It is a modern fitting for living rooms, dining rooms and open-plan spaces. It hangs over a sofa or a dining table and lights the area below without a bulky shade. The 50cm size suits a smaller table or a compact room, while the 65cm and 80cm sizes fill a larger space. Two different sizes hung side by side make an easy pairing. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It works on a simple on-off switch and is not dimmable, so it goes on a standard light switch rather than a dimmer.

Its structure is aluminium in a matt black finish and the diffuser is silicone. The ring hangs from a round ceiling canopy on fine suspension wires, with a 2m black textile cable carrying the power. It runs on 220-240V mains, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee. As a styling note, the gap in the ring is part of its character, so hang it where it can be seen from across the room. Let the matt black line stand out against pale walls and soft fabrics.
