The Rio Wall Light is a modern wall light made up of three simple parts: a round wall plate, a short horizontal arm and a rounded dome shade that hangs from the end of it. We like how clean the geometry is, with a flat disc on the wall, a straight arm running out from it and a smooth dome below, open at its base. It is built on an iron structure and finished in blue, and that blue runs through the plate, the arm and the shade, so the whole fitting reads as one confident shape against the wall. It comes in three sizes, 9cm, 12cm and 16cm, so you can match the scale of the fitting to the wall it sits on.

It is made for dry indoor rooms, and it is at home in hallways, on landings and in bedrooms. A pair either side of a bed frees the bedside tables, and a run of them along a passage sets a tidy rhythm down the wall. It works as well in a living room, a study or beside a reading chair.
