Description

The Rio articulated table lamp is a slim, modern lamp in a warm terracotta finish. A single rod rises from a round disc base, bends over at the top and holds a small domed shade on an articulated arm, so the light falls down onto the surface beneath it. The structure is iron, and the lamp stands 45cm tall on a base 19cm across. The shade is 12cm across and 11cm tall, compact enough for a narrow desk or a small bedside table. It has one GX53 lamp holder, so any lamp you fit needs a GX53 cap.

We like it on a desk in a home office, on a bedside table, or on a side table in a living room, wherever a small pool of light close at hand is more use than a bright overhead one. The terracotta is an earthy, warm colour that sits comfortably with a modern or Scandinavian scheme: pale wood, linen, white walls and green leaves. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, which suits a bedroom, study, living room or hallway. The 2m textile cable gives you some freedom to place it a little way from the socket.

The construction is plain and honest: an iron structure in a terracotta finish, carried on a round base, with a textile cable. It is an on-off switched lamp, so it is not made for use with a dimmer.
