The Rio is a slim articulated table lamp in matt white, made for the desk or the bedside where you want light close at hand. A small dome shade hangs from the end of a bent iron arm, sending its light downwards onto a book, a keyboard or a notebook. It stands 45cm tall on a flat round base 19cm across, and the shade itself is a neat 12cm across and 11cm tall. It has one GX53 lamp holder and switches simply on and off.

Its small footprint suits a home office desk, a bedside table or a side table next to a reading chair, and its clean lines sit comfortably in modern and Scandinavian rooms. The 2m textile cable gives you reach to a socket that is not right beside the table, which helps on a crowded desk. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: bedrooms, studies, living rooms and hallways suit it well. Because it is a simple switched lamp, it is happiest as a working light, ready the moment you sit down to read or write.

The structure is iron, finished in matt white from the base to the arm and the shade, and the cable is covered in textile for a tidier look than plain flex.
