Description

The Rio 9 Linear 5 Light Chandelier sets five small dome shades in a row beneath a slim iron rail, all in a matt black finish. The fitting is 120cm long and 9.5cm tall, and each shade is 9cm across, so the light runs in a long, low line rather than gathering in one spot. It takes five GX53 lamps across its five shades and runs on a 220 to 240V supply. The iron structure is paired with a textile cable, and the ceiling canopy is 8cm across, small enough to sit neatly against the ceiling.

We think it belongs over a long dining table, where five points of light spread evenly from one end to the other and nobody sits in shadow. It works just as well above a desk run in a home office, along a bar counter or over a reception desk in a shop or studio. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The look is modern with a Scandinavian plainness, so it settles into pale timber, white walls and simple furniture as easily as it does into darker, moodier schemes.

The structure is iron in a matt black finish, and the shades and rail share the same colour, so the fitting reads as one clean line.
