Description

The Rio 9 is a linear ceiling light with three dome shades set in a row beneath a long, flat bar. Its iron structure is finished in matt black, a soft black with no shine that sits happily in modern and Scandinavian rooms. The whole fitting is 38cm wide and only 10cm tall. Each dome shade is 9cm across and 8cm tall, and the raised canopy that fixes to the ceiling is 30cm wide. It takes a GX53 lamp cap.

It fixes flush to the ceiling with no stem, and at only 10cm tall it is a sensible choice for rooms with lower ceilings, where a pendant would hang too close to head height. The linear shape follows a room's long lines, so it works well along a hallway or landing, over a dining table, or above a desk in a home office, and it is just as much at home in a bedroom or living room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is an on-off fitting worked from an ordinary light switch, so it needs no dimmer.
