Description

Rina is a small recessed light for a ceiling or a wall, with a brass structure in a matt polished brass finish and an opal glass shade. The body is a slim brass cylinder, and at its end sits a softly rounded disc of opal glass, 6.5cm across and 2.5cm deep, which spreads the light evenly so you see a soft glow rather than a bright point. The whole fitting is 11cm tall. Its light source is a Dash bulb rated at 4W, giving 330 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a colour rendering index of 85 or more, so wood, fabric and skin tones look natural under it.

Being recessed, it fixes into a cut-out in the ceiling or wall, and its compact size suits spots where a pendant would hang too low. We like it in a run along a hallway or landing, spaced across a curving stairwell ceiling to light the way up, or set in a short column on a bedroom wall beside a headboard or a dressing mirror, where a few small points of warm light read as one quiet arrangement. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so it runs from an ordinary switch with no dimmer to match.

The structure is brass in a matt polished brass finish, which gives a soft sheen rather than a mirror shine, and the opal glass shade hides the bulb and diffuses its light. Spring clips at the top of the body hold it in its cut-out. It is a mains fitting for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee.
