Description

We stock the Rim as a 400mm circular LED ceiling light for even overhead light without a central glare point. It is built around a matt black aluminium ring that hides an integrated 24W LED behind a white acrylic diffuser, and a selector on the driver lets you set the colour between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white when it is installed. At 584 lumens on the warmer setting and 581 on the cooler one, with a CRI of 80, it gives a moderate, comfortable spread of ambient light.

We like the Rim in rooms where you want wide coverage without the fitting taking up much height, so it sits well in bedrooms, hallways, home offices and living rooms. It sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down, which makes it a sensible choice under lower ceilings. The 120 degree beam angle pushes light out across a typical 3 to 4 metre room, and the matt black finish keeps the fitting low-reflective against white, grey or darker ceilings.

The Rim runs on 220-240V AC 50Hz mains and is rated IP20, so it is made for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or outdoor use. The LED is dimmable when you pair it with a compatible LED dimmer on the mains circuit, letting you drop the light from full brightness to a softer level. It carries a G energy class. If you want the same ring in a larger size we also stock the 600mm version, and both come in black or brass.

How do I choose between the warm and neutral white setting?

There is a selector on the driver that switches the LED between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white. You set it when the light is installed, so you can pick warm white for a bedroom or living room and neutral white for a home office or hallway.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 24W LED dims on a compatible LED dimmer wired into the mains circuit (sold separately), so you can take it from full brightness down to a softer level.

Can I fit the Rim in a bathroom?

No. The Rim is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry indoor rooms such as bedrooms, hallways and living rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere it could meet moisture.

What size is this one and does it come in other options?

This is the 400mm ring in black. We also stock a larger 600mm version, and both sizes are available in black or brass, so you can match the size and finish to your room.
