Our Rhoda pendant light is a slim tube of matt black iron, hung at an angle from a fine rigid rod so its light is cast at an angle rather than straight to the floor. The tube itself is the shade: 25cm long and 4cm deep, with a neat slot along its upper edge where the rod passes through, and the light sits recessed in its open lower end. It takes one GU10 lamp, a widely used cap, so a replacement is easy to find. At the ceiling, an 8cm canopy keeps the fixing end small and tidy.

Its modern lines suit a contemporary home or a quiet workspace.
