Description

The René is a linear LED pendant light built around two slim horizontal light bars, one hung above the other between two orange uprights. It comes in two sizes, 120cm and 160cm. The 120cm size has two 12W LED bars giving 1000 lumens each, and the 160cm size has two 16W bars giving 1300 lumens each; both sizes hang from a 14cm canopy. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to fit or replace, and it gives a warm white 3000K light with a colour rendering index of 90 or more, which keeps wood, food and fabric looking true. A 120° beam spreads the light wide along each bar.

Its long, low line suits a dining table, a long desk, a work table or a reception counter, where one fitting can light the whole run of the surface rather than a pool in the middle. We would choose the 120cm size for a shorter table or desk and the 160cm size for a longer run. The orange brings warmth and a note of colour to a modern room of plain walls, pale timber or concrete, without adding bulk overhead. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, such as dining rooms, living rooms, studies and offices. It is switched on and off and is not dimmable, so it runs from an ordinary wall switch rather than a dimmer.

The base is iron and the structure aluminium, and the fitting has a 2m textile cable. The uprights are finished in orange, with slim black light bars running between them. It runs on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee.
