Description

The Reiko is a pendant light with a matt white aluminium shade under a conical base in natural ash wood, hung on a textile cable. From the narrow wood cone the shade swells into a soft, rounded dome and finishes in an open rim that sends the light downwards onto whatever sits beneath it. The fitting is 24cm tall, the shade is 21cm across and the ceiling canopy is 8cm across, which makes it a compact pendant that sits comfortably where a larger shade would crowd the space. The matt white finish keeps the surface soft and low in shine, and the pale grain of the ash adds a little warmth.

Its Scandinavian, modern lines suit pale, simple interiors as well as warmer rooms with timber floors and furniture. Because the shade is modest in size, it works well hung as a pair or in a row over a dining table or a breakfast bar, where a few smaller pendants share the work of one larger fitting. A single Reiko also suits a hallway, a landing or a reading corner, and it gives a small bedroom or study a central light without filling the ceiling.
