Description

The Rebeca is a wide, shallow dome pendant in matt white, with an aluminium shade hung on a textile cable. It measures 56cm across and only 14cm tall, so it reads as a broad, gentle curve over the room rather than a deep bowl. Inside, it takes one lamp with an E27 cap, the familiar large screw fitting, so the warmth and brightness of its light depend on the lamp fitted. With the underside open, the light falls downwards and spreads out beneath the rim.

We see it first over a dining table, where the 56cm dome spreads its light across the table. It works just as well above a coffee table in a living room, or as the main ceiling light in a bedroom or study. Its low height keeps it from feeling heavy despite its width, and the 1.5m textile cable lets it hang at a comfortable height over a table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The plain, modern shape suits contemporary and minimalist homes, and the white keeps it light on the eye in a smaller room.

The shade is aluminium, finished in matt white, with a round 12cm ceiling canopy above and a textile cable between the two. It runs on 220-240V mains and is switched on and off from your wall switch; it does not dim. As a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, hang it over a pale wood table with simple chairs, or let it be the one bright curve in a room of warm neutrals and linen.
