Description

The Rarni single is a ribbed glass shade on a brass pivot: a round back plate, a block with a knurled thumbscrew on each side, and a deep tulip of clear ribbed glass hanging from it with a plain flared rim. The ribs run the full height of the glass and there are small bubbles through it. A rust coloured fabric flex loops over the top of the pivot into the fitting. It is 18.3cm tall, 10cm wide and stands 21.4cm out from the wall.

The thumbscrews are the point of it: slacken them and the shade tips, tighten them and it stays. Over a worktop or a run of open shelving that means the light can be put on the work rather than on the wall. It takes one E14 bulb up to 40W, it works on a dimmer, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. No bulb is included.

The fitting is brass under an antique brass finish and the shade is ribbed glass. The Rarni range also holds a double, the same shade and pivot twice over on a horizontal bar.
