The Randa is a modern wall and ceiling light. It has a single opal glass globe set in the centre of a wide, ribbed dish in matt black. Concentric rings run round the inside of the dish, so the globe sits like a pearl in a shallow shell. It measures 25cm across and 10cm tall, and its opal glass globe shade is 8cm across. The structure is aluminium in a matt black finish, and the opal glass softens the lamp into an even, gentle glow, so you never look straight at a bare bulb.

It fixes flush, with no stem, to a ceiling or to a wall, which makes it a good answer wherever headroom is tight: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a living room with a low ceiling. On a ceiling it reads as a neat, low dish of light; on a wall it becomes a sculptural sconce beside a bed or along a corridor. A few in a row along a passage make a calm, steady line of light.
