Description

Five double hooks set along a flat iron bar 64cm long. Each one carries a slim prong that sweeps up above the bar and finishes in a small ball, and a deeper hook that curves down below it, so the row of five gives ten places to hang something. Every hook is fixed through the bar with a round headed rivet, and the bar is drilled for a screw at each end. The surface is left rough and mottled, dark grey with rust showing through, rather than finished flat.

At 64cm the bar spans the width of a doorway and takes five coats without them pressing against each other, which is what puts it in a hallway, a boot room or behind a back door. The upward prongs are shallow and suit a hat, a lead or a bag by its strap; the hooks below are deep enough to take a heavy coat without it working loose. They stand 10.5cm clear of the wall, so a bulky sleeve still hangs free of the plaster. It is for indoor walls only.

The bar and the hooks are iron throughout. The finish is left rustic rather than even, so the depth of the rust and the way it is spread differ from one bar to the next. The same hook is also made as a row of three.

Frequently Asked

How many hooks are there?

Five, each a double hook, so there are ten hanging points along the 64cm bar.

There is a drilled hole at each end of the bar to take a screw.

How far do the hooks stand out from the wall?

10.5cm.

No. It is for indoor use only.

How do I look after it?

A dry, soft cloth will take off any dust that builds up. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from it, as they will damage the finish.
