Description

The Rafaela is a compact LED drum pendant: a 14cm drum shade in matt black, topped by a slim matt polished brass stem that meets the cable. The stem is finely fluted, so it catches the light against the flat black of the drum. Beneath, a methacrylate diffuser spreads an even glow across a wide 120° beam. It runs on an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or change, and it gives 1520 lumens from 11.8W. We offer it in two colour temperatures, 3000K and 2700K, and its colour rendering index of 90 or more keeps wood, fabric and food looking true.

Because the drum is small and the light is generous, it suits places where you want good light without a bulky fitting. Hang one over a reading chair or beside the bed in place of a table lamp, or hang two or three in a row above a dining table or a desk. It sits neatly in a hallway or on a landing too, and it comes on a 1.5m cable. Choose 2700K for a softer, more golden evening light, or 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white at a desk. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The structure is iron and brass, the head is aluminium and the diffuser beneath it is methacrylate, which softens the LED into a smooth, even pool of light. It works from an ordinary on-off switch and is not dimmable, so there is no need for a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, let the brass stem pick up other warm metals in the room, such as a brass mirror frame or cabinet handles, and let the matt black drum echo dark window frames or ironwork.
