Rafaela is a modern LED table lamp with a flat disc head held out on a slim horizontal arm, which crosses a thin upright stem rising from a cylindrical base on a round foot. The lamp is finished in matt black. It stands 41cm tall and 29cm wide, and the disc head is 11cm across. The light comes from an integrated LED of 6.5W giving 1050 lumens, so it needs no bulb. A methacrylate diffuser spreads the light at a 120° beam angle, and a CRI of 90 or above keeps colours true on book covers, fabrics and paperwork.

It comes in two colour temperatures, 3000K or 2700K, so you can choose the light for the room: 2700K for a softer, cosier warm white, 3000K for a slightly crisper one. We think it belongs on a desk in a study or home office, on a bedside table, or on a side table beside a reading chair in a living room, where the disc head reaches out over a book, a laptop or a letter. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It works on a simple on-off switch and is not dimmable, so it is not for use with a dimmer. The 2m cable gives sensible reach to a socket behind a desk or bed, and it runs on 220-240V mains.

The structure is iron and the head is aluminium, both finished in matt black, with a methacrylate diffuser in the disc head to soften the LED. The cylindrical base is 21cm tall and stands on a round foot. It carries a 5 year guarantee. Its straight lines and matt black finish sit well with pale oak, white walls and other modern furniture. Place it to one side of a desk or reading chair so the disc head reaches over the spot where you read or work.
