Description

The Radial is a round ceiling canopy for low-voltage pendants, with its driver built in. It measures 24.5cm across and 3.7cm high. It is a slim disc in Brushed Champagne that sits close to the ceiling and covers the connections behind it. It holds 3 or 4 pendants, each sold separately, and feeds them at 24V DC from its built-in 12W driver, so there is no separate driver to find for them. The canopy runs on 230V mains and gives no light of its own: all of the light comes from the pendants you hang from it. It is not dimmable, so it is not one to pair with a dimmer switch.

Hanging three or four pendants from one canopy suits a dining table, a long sideboard, a stairwell or a double-height hallway. In those places a cluster of lights reads better than a single drop, and it leaves one neat round plate on the ceiling instead of several. It belongs to a low-voltage 24V lighting set-up, so choose pendants made to run at 24V DC. Alongside the pendants, it needs the accessory for hanging the electric cable, which is not included and is sold separately. The Radial carries no IP rating, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The Brushed Champagne finish has a soft, fine grain rather than a mirror shine. The disc sits over a shallow housing that fixes to the ceiling, so from the room you see only the flat face. At 3.7cm high it keeps a low profile, which helps on lower ceilings where every centimetre of height matters. It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. It makes sense to have your pendants and the accessory for hanging the electric cable ready beforehand so everything goes up together.
