Description
The Quilbrook cascade in seven light form gathers clear glass globes at staggered heights beneath a round bright nickel plate. The globes hang at different levels, so the fitting has real depth from below and a stepped outline from the side. The plate is 480mm across and the drop adjusts between 1910mm and 2310mm, a mid length cascade that suits a stairwell of ordinary height or a tall room rather than a full atrium. Seven E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs, and the pendant is dimmable, which lets a hallway run bright while people are moving through and low the rest of the time.
We would use it over a stair turn, in a hall with a landing above, or above a round dining table where a single shade would look flat. Two metres of drop needs headroom, so measure from ceiling to the highest point anyone will walk under before you commit. Around a table the lowest globe should clear sightlines across the surface. It suits a modern room that wants some sparkle without colour, and the clear glass keeps a narrow hall from feeling closed in.
Metalwork is finished in bright nickel, a cool silver that reads clean against white and grey schemes and holds its own next to chrome tapware. Each globe is clear glass, so the bulb is part of the look, and a globe or filament style LED gives the neatest result. To clean, isolate the light, let the bulbs cool, dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth and wipe the nickel with the same cloth lightly damp, keeping abrasive creams away from the plating. At 6.1kg the fitting needs a secure ceiling fixing. A larger Quilbrook cascade covers taller voids, and a three light Quilbrook cluster suits smaller rooms.

Frequently Asked
How much drop does this Quilbrook cascade have?
Between 1910mm and 2310mm, which suits a stairwell of ordinary height or a tall room.
What is it made from?
Clear glass globes on metal suspensions, with the plate and fittings in a bright nickel finish.
What bulbs does it need?
Seven E27 bulbs at 10W each, and it is dimmable on a compatible LED dimmer.
How do I keep the globes clear?
Switch off, let the bulbs cool, then dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth. Use a barely damp cloth on the nickel and nothing abrasive.
Can it hang over a dining table?
Yes. Set the drop so the lowest globe sits above sightlines across the table, usually around 700mm above the surface.
