Quilbrook Cascade 13 Light Pendant - Bright Nickel Clear

The Quilbrook cascade is a thirteen light pendant that drops clear glass globes at staggered heights from a single bright nickel ceiling plate. Read from below the globes form a loose spiral, and read from the side they fall as a column of light. The plate measures 580mm across and the fitting hangs between 3370mm and 3770mm, a deliberately long drop meant for tall spaces rather than ordinary rooms. Each of the thirteen E27 lamp holders takes a 10W LED bulb, and the whole pendant is dimmable, so a stairwell can be lit properly for use and then turned down to a low glow at night.

This is a stairwell and atrium fitting first. We would hang it in a double height hallway, over a turning staircase or through a landing void, where it can be seen from two floors at once. It also works above a tall dining table in a converted space with the height to carry it. What it will not do is fit a standard 2400mm ceiling, since at over three metres of drop the globes would sit at head height. Check your void before ordering, and plan the hanging position so the lowest globe clears any bannister or walkway.

The frame and cable suspensions are metal in a bright nickel finish, a cool clean silver tone that keeps the focus on the glass. The globes are clear, so bulb choice shows, and round filament style LED bulbs suit the open shape. Clean with the power off and the bulbs cool, dusting each globe with a dry microfibre cloth and using a barely damp cloth for the nickel, since strong cleaners will mark plating.
