The Quenford large pendant sets ribbed clear glass in bright nickel, with the vertical ribbing picking up highlights along the shade as the light passes through. The shade is 250mm in diameter and the drop adjusts from 570mm to 1675mm, a long range that suits islands, tables and stair voids alike. It takes one E27 screw fit lamp rated at 10W, and the ribbed surface diffuses the lamp a little while keeping the shade bright and open. Wired to a compatible dimmer switch with a dimmable lamp, the output drops smoothly for the evening.

The long drop makes this ceiling light practical in pairs over a kitchen island, in a line of three above a longer worktop, or as a single pendant beside a bed or over a hall table. Ribbed glass is a good middle choice when clear glass feels too exposed and opal feels too closed: you keep the light, lose some of the glare, and gain a texture that reads well even when the light is off. Bright nickel suits cooler rooms with chrome taps, stainless steel and grey or white cabinetry.

The shade is ribbed clear glass and the metalwork and ceiling plate are finished in bright nickel. Clean it by isolating the power, letting the lamp cool, then running a soft dry cloth or a clean dry brush down the ribs where dust gathers, and wiping the nickel with a barely damp cloth before drying it off. It carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor rooms and needs an earth connection at the ceiling. We include smaller Quenford shades in the same range if you want ribbed glass in a hall or over a breakfast bar.
