Description
The Prema is a small candle holder in iron under an antique brass finish, 9.5cm tall on a flared bell foot. The stem is turned into two rounded swells below a straight cup, and a wide loop handle sweeps out from the side of the cup and down to the foot, standing well clear of the stem. The whole surface is hammered, so it is dimpled rather than smooth and the brass breaks into bright and dulled patches.
The cup takes a taper candle, which stands in it rather than dropping into a socket, and at 9.5cm the flame sits low, near the level of whatever else is on the table. The loop is sized for a whole hand rather than one finger, so the holder can be lifted and carried with the candle lit. It is 8cm across including the handle and 5cm deep, small enough for a bedside table, a windowsill or a crowded table.
The holder is iron under an antique brass finish, hammered by hand so no two carry the same pattern of dents. The finish reads brighter on the raised parts of the hammering and darker in the hollows, and it varies from piece to piece. A candle snuffer is made in the same antique brass finish. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked
What size candle does it take?
A taper candle. It stands in the cup rather than dropping into a socket.
How big is it?
9.5cm tall, 8cm across including the handle, and 5cm deep.
What is it made from?
Iron, under an antique brass finish.
Can it be carried with the candle lit?
Yes. The loop handle takes a whole hand and sits clear of the stem. It does get hot in use, so wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
How should it be looked after?
Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so that wax does not build up. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.
