Description

The PowerMaster 4ft twin LED emergency batten delivers 4,800 lumens of 4000K cool white light from a 40W integrated LED array housed in a white steel body with an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The twin LED configuration places two parallel LED strips behind the diffuser for even light distribution across the 1200mm length. During mains failure, the internal emergency circuit switches to battery power and maintains 1.5-2W output for up to 3 hours.

Designed for corridors, stairwells, commercial hallways and industrial access routes where emergency lighting compliance is required, the batten mounts directly to ceilings or walls using a screwless hinged bracket. The bracket clips onto the housing without visible fixings once installed, and the hinged design allows the diffuser to swing open for lamp maintenance or emergency battery checks without removing the bracket from the ceiling. Quick-fit push terminals on the driver accept mains cable without requiring a screwdriver.

The white steel housing measures approximately 1200mm long by 100mm wide and weighs 1.5kg once fitted. The opal diffuser softens the twin LED strips into a continuous wash of light with a 120-degree beam angle, reducing harsh shadows in narrow passages. The batten carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry environments and an IK06 impact rating, providing resistance to minor knocks during routine building maintenance.

How long does the emergency backup last?

The internal battery provides 3 hours of emergency lighting at 1.5-2W output when mains power fails. The battery recharges automatically when mains power is restored.

Is the batten dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The batten operates at full 40W output on mains power or at the fixed emergency output during power cuts.

What does the screwless hinged bracket mean for installation?

The bracket clips onto the batten housing without visible screws on the finished fitting. The hinge allows the diffuser to swing open for maintenance access to the LED module and emergency circuit without detaching the bracket from the ceiling.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating restricts the batten to Zone 3 locations in bathrooms — areas more than 2.4m from the edge of the bath or shower tray, or outside designated zones entirely. It is not rated for direct splash zones.
