Description

This is a single artificial poppy stem in beige, standing 104cm tall with a flowering head that spreads 16cm across. From one long main stem, slender branches twist and wave upwards, each finishing in an open poppy flower or a closed bud, with a few small leaves along the way. The petals are softly ruffled and gather around a contrasting centre, much as a real poppy's do. It is made from 80% polyester, 10% iron and 10% polyethylene, and at 0.06KG it is very light in the hand.

At 104cm it has the height for a tall floor vase, and it holds its own as a single stem where a fuller bunch would crowd a sideboard or a narrow hall table. It works just as well tucked into a mixed arrangement, where the wandering side branches reach out beyond the other flowers and loosen the outline of the bouquet. Because it is artificial it needs no water, so it suits a hallway, a landing or a bedroom shelf where fresh flowers would be a chore to keep.
