Description

This pack of two LED candles is shaped like a slim fir tree, each candle built up from row upon row of leaf-like scales that taper to a flame-shaped LED tip. The taller candle stands 24.5cm tall and the shorter 18.5cm, and both are 2.2cm across, so you get a pair in two heights that looks deliberate side by side rather than matched. The outer finish is paraffin, the wax most household candles are made from, which gives the green surface a soft sheen and the feel of a real candle in the hand. At 0.12KG they are light enough to move from room to room.

They are made for Christmas: stand them on the mantelpiece, along a sideboard or down the middle of the dining table, where the two heights give rhythm to a festive centrepiece. Because they run on batteries, they need no socket, so they can go wherever the arrangement wants them, on a hall table or a windowsill. The built-in timer turns them off automatically after 8 hours, which means you can switch them on as the light fades and not have to remember to switch them off at bedtime. They suit anyone who loves the look of tapers in candlestick holders through December and would rather not keep replacing wax.
