Additions Converter 36mm - White

This is the small adaptor that lets a European plug meet a British socket. It measures 36mm across, so it sits close to the wall without crowding whatever is plugged in beside it, and the rating of 3A covers table lamps, floor lamps and the sort of low draw appliance people bring back from the continent. There is nothing to set or adjust; it simply carries the connection through. White throughout, it all but vanishes against a pale wall.

We keep it for customers who have bought a lamp abroad, or ordered one from a European maker, and would rather not take the plug off and rewire the flex. It is an earthed type, so the lamp keeps its earth connection right through to the socket. Keep it indoors and in dry rooms: a bedside table, a desk, a hallway console, a shelf behind the sofa where a reading lamp lives. One per lamp is the usual answer. It is a sensible thing to have to hand if you shop online from European sellers, where a light may well arrive with the wrong plug on the end.

The casing is white on every face, so it looks the same whichever way round it goes in, and there is no printing or trim to wear off with handling. Cleaning takes a dry cloth and a moment: pull it from the socket first, and keep anything damp well away from the pins. It carries a three year warranty. What does this converter do?

Yes. It is a Class 1 item requiring an earth connection, so an earthed lamp stays earthed when used with it.

How should I clean it?

Take it out of the socket, then wipe the white casing with a dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and solvents, and never clean it while it is in use.
