Description

The Plato is an 18.5cm circular LED pendant designed for the Maytoni Exility magnetic track system, with an integrated 15W 3000K LED module inside a black aluminium housing. The pendant attaches magnetically to the track rather than via traditional fixed wiring, allowing it to be repositioned along the track length without tools or re-wiring. The circular diffuser sits within a thin black metal rim, creating a flat profile that projects approximately 11cm from the track when hung.

The pendant rotates 355° around its vertical axis and tilts 180° on its magnetic mounting point, allowing the light to be directed across a worktop, onto a wall as wash lighting, or straight down over a dining table or kitchen island. This makes the Plato suitable for task lighting in kitchens, accent lighting in retail or hospitality settings, or as adjustable general lighting in open-plan living areas where ceiling positions are fixed but lighting needs change.

The Exility track system operates on 48V DC rather than mains 230V AC, which means a driver is required (sold separately with the track kit). The magnetic connection between pendant and track provides both power and mechanical support, so each Plato pendant can be moved, added or removed without switching off the circuit. The black aluminium construction gives the pendant a lightweight 0.5kg mass, and the IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments.

Does this pendant require the Exility magnetic track system?

Yes. The Plato attaches magnetically to the Maytoni Exility track and receives 48V DC power through that connection. It cannot be fitted to a standard ceiling rose or traditional track lighting rail. The Exility track kit (sold separately) includes the track length, magnetic rail, and the required 48V driver.

Can the pendant be moved along the track after installation?

Yes. The magnetic connection allows the pendant to be repositioned along the track without tools or re-wiring. The track must remain powered off during repositioning for safety, but no electrical work is required to move the pendant to a new position on the rail.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 15W LED module is integrated into the pendant housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation, which equates to around 10-12 years of typical domestic use at 6-8 hours per day.

Can multiple Plato pendants be fitted to one track?

Yes, subject to the total wattage limit of the Exility track driver. Each Plato draws 15W, so a typical 100W driver can support up to six pendants. Check the driver specification in the Exility track kit to confirm the maximum load for your installation.
