Plantation 4 Light Pineapple Pendant - Pearl Bronze

The Hinkley Plantation is a 318mm diameter pendant light shaped as a pineapple, with four internal E14 candle bulbs visible through clear diamond-cut optic glass. The pineapple body is cradled top and bottom by pearl bronze metalwork cast to resemble palm fronds, with a matching bronze chain and canopy. Each of the four bulb positions sits inside a bronze candle sleeve that frames the light source when lit.

Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms and kitchen islands with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Plantation provides both ambient and decorative function. The 1524mm chain allows adjustment on installation from a minimum drop of 840mm to a maximum of 2365mm, so the pendant can be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or kitchen worktop depending on ceiling height. The optic glass is cut in a traditional pineapple diamond pattern that refracts light into prismatic patterns on surrounding walls when the bulbs are lit.

The pearl bronze finish has a mid-tone patina darker than polished brass but lighter than oil-rubbed bronze, with subtle tonal variation across the cast metalwork. The palm-frond detailing at the top and bottom of the pineapple is three-dimensional, not flat stamping, giving the fitting depth and presence when viewed from below. The 318mm diameter and 780mm body height make the Plantation substantial enough to anchor a 1.8-2.4m dining table without overwhelming smaller entrance halls or kitchens.

What bulbs does it take?

The Plantation takes four E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs up to 40W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look that complements the bronze finish.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 840mm and 780mm body height mean the fitting works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For dining tables the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, requiring approximately 2.3-2.4m ceiling height to avoid the bottom of the pineapple sitting below eye level when standing.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

The drop is adjusted during installation by shortening or lengthening the chain before fixing the canopy to the ceiling. Once installed the drop is fixed unless the canopy is removed and the chain re-adjusted.

How is the glass cleaned?

The optic glass pineapple body is removable for cleaning. Twist the bottom bronze cap anti-clockwise to release the glass, wipe with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly before reassembling. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the bronze metalwork as this can dull the patina.
